Default How do the sub-varsity teams look around the valley?

How to the sub-varsity teams look? I know Sharyland, Ed. North both have a good group of youngsters. How about the rest of the valley, any input?

Sharyland is always packed with talent. Edinburg North has a good group of Sophmores including two pitchers that are already bringing 80 plus heat. Two sophmores that are already getting some Varsity expererience that will be an upcoming group also. Also the group from Alamo have had some good little players also.

    Question

    Hanna Brown looks pretty alright.
    they beat Rio Hondo tuesday
    11-1.
    the pitcher did pretty good.
i think she got like 7k's
she needs to work on her power a little more.shes decently fast but she can be faster. she worked the plate well but the umpires didnt call them very often.
    but shes got potential
the team over all needs to talk more. but well see how they do at the tournament tomorrow in brownsville.

Sharyland JV scrimmaged the ENHS JV cougars last friday. Shary won 5 to 0 in a good game. Nick Escobar pitched 4 innings for the coogs striking out 7 with no ER0 and 2BB. Couple errors cost the coogs.

My experience over the last few years, having a son in select ball, would lead me to believe that the following teams should have strong freshmen classes: (no particular order) LaJoya Palmview / RioGrande City /Alamo - PSJA Wolverines?/ McHigh / McA Memorial/ Harlingen / San Benito / Sharyland

McAllen Memorial JV1 has done well in all thier scrimmages and won thier first official game against Harlingen 10-4. They have three quality pitchers that have pretty good stuff. One of the freshmen has seen a few innings against varsity competition and done well. The Harlingen JV let the game get away from them with a bad inning where they made a few errors or the game would have been much closer. Both pitchers they threw had good stuff, a little help defensively would have really helped them keep the score down.

The San Benito pitching staff was also pretty stout but they had no help defensively.

Good luck to all and may the best team win!

Nick will be fine, slipped on wet grass and had a mild knee bruise. Should be back for the Bear game.
