Something about the west side of the valley, very good throwers, football and baseball.

Are we talking actual QB or running back playing QB? The trend seems to be the latter. Actual qb I would include guajardo psja, sotello Vela, rowe qb, hanna qb, marburger poineer right now. Running back playing QB gilpin, cavazos, skaugen. Of course others in convo but those off top of my head

Sotelo has had a rough start, but he definitely has potential to be up there.

I was thinking the same thing. It's an open ended question with no starting point and no ending point. To me, it's the QBs that get it done on the scoreboard. Identify the 5 highest scoring offenses and you have your list. Too many ifs, ands, or buts otherwise.

Can't agree. As just getting it done and winning really is a team thing. I've seen many sub par QBs win with great stats just because they are dominate at wr and rb. I guess I was thinking actual skill set at qb such as accuracy, decision making, and leadership qualities.

Accuracy, decision making, and leadership = ifs, ands or buts.

I get what you are saying about peripheral players and their skill sets but it can't be measured empirically with any reasonable degree of certainty. Many of the QBs mentioned in this thread are blessed with such peripheral players. None of us arm chair RGV HS Football analysts are qualified to answer the question. You need to poll the defenses who play against these RGV QBs. They'll tell you whose best and it's a measure by the people in the know and in the fight. Ask the boots on the ground if you want to know what's going on.

Being a student of the game and watching all these athletes play both 7 on 7 and actual games whether it be live or online and knowing where they train and their off season patterns for many of them tells you what you need to know to accurately judge them. Sotello great decision maker and exceptional leader. Marburger more athletic than most realize good accuracy and the physical measurables rarely seen in rgv, hanna and rowe QBs can throw the rock well and have proven athletic ability. Then the are just some qbs that really can't throw one bit but are just athletes which you can see in 7 on 7. Many of these QBs listed are the latter of the 2 categories which kind of excludes them from being a total qb. Imo.

Cavazos from Weslaco does it both on the ground & thru the air.
