    Default 2018 Edcouch Elsa

Coach Chavez had the team Orientation already. The players were told that everyone that was a starter last year is not guaranteed starter this year. Every player has to earn their spot on the team. Parent's won't be permitted to interfere or lobby for their son for playing time. Also they were told what was and will be expected from them. He Coach Chavez and the Coaching Staff was brought in to win and advance in the playoff. Player will be held accountable for their grades and its up to them to put in the effort in the classroom and on the field. Not only do they represent The Edcouch Elsa Yellow Jacket Football Team but Also Students At Edcouch Elsa High School. You as players are held to the highest Standereds at E-E ISD.

If a coach is only doing what is the best for the team to be successful " Let him do his job and parents STAY OUT !" Also like that Mr.Chavez wants all his kids to make good grades a top priority. The very best of luck to Edcouch.

Here's a headstart for those that will put in the work and effort:

    1. GPA
    2. Class Rank
    3. ACT/SAT scores

Best wishes to The Yellowjackets, Coach Chavez and staff.

Itís not just about parents staying out of things. The bigger problem is parents keeping their mouth shut in front of their kid. If a kid hears nothing but badmouthing at home, it transfers to school. Unless a coach is absolutely abusing their power or neglecting their program, then we should be supportive of that program, from top to bottom.

Yes we should be supportive. Problem starts when a parent goes running to a Board member telling him they are being to hard on their kid or their kid is not being given any opportunity to play. Some Board memebers take it that they need to tell the Coach how to do their job.

They had 2 really good QBs that both got playing time because of the starter going down at one point. Other than that I don't know how much they bring back. I think they were a senior heavy team this season.

This will be the last season they will have kids who were allowed to enroll under their open enrollment when they opened. It will be interesting to see how they do when they have to use their own attendance zone kids.

Really like the direction the team is headed. My nephew will be a Sr. next year and has been very impress with Coach Chavez and the new staff members that he brought in with him.

There is words circulating around E-E that a Dome Practice Field might be in the works at E-E for 2019. Work with some sponsors are still being worked out.

Does anyone know if Coach Chavez's step son is going to play Varsity football next season? His step son plays at Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial... I don't know what position though...
