The Weslaco loss was 20-10. They were in those games and had the ball bounced their way? They would have made the playoffs.

Fast Forward to 2017. They'll have to minimize their TOs and get some stops when they need to. If they can do that they'll put themselves in good position to make the playoffs; possibly be in the mix for the district title.

From what I saw last season, they're going to establish the run....try to lull defenses to sleep, then hit them with play-action passes...nothing fancy...not to say they don't have some wrinkles in their offense.
Their offense looks similar to Gus Malzahan's offense at Auburn.

I can't argue with that assessment.

This running back for the hawks really tore it up....is he a senior? He ran for 225 yrds against the bulldogs. That's without having a scrimmage. Good showing by the hawks. They might be a dark horse in this tough district.

The Hawks beat McAllen last year and started the season 3-0.

Wow psja overcame 5 turnovers to get the win over the hawks unbelivable. Guess the hawks have to shake the cobwebs after not having that scrimmage.

Yup. PSJA needs a running game to create more balance, IMO. South needs a passing game. They had their chances also but they couldn't overcome their own TOs. Both teams should be in the mix for a playoff spot.

In addition, PSJA Stadium is a nice facility. Parking is really good now.
