Yes, I noticed him at the Bobby Morrow Relays. He and Cassie Divin were the only two athletes that really stood out, to me.

Daniela Murchison (whose name was butchered by the announcer) took Silver in both the Discus and the Shot Put at the Sams Relays this past weekend.

Corina Cox (signed to Troy University), won the Discuss (147-10).
Leigha Brown (verbal to University of Arkansas) won the Shot Put (37-11.50).

    What grade is Divin in?

Seems like she came out of nowhere. How did she do last year?

She is a Senior. She was Valley's fastest as a Sophmore in the 400m, not loosing a race her entire 10th grade year. (her first year ever running track)
Junior year she tore her quad.
She has been working extra hard to battle back and make sure she has no regrets for her Senior season. (currently Valley's fastest in 3 events)

Don't forget the other Shary Soph Sean Landez jumping 21'7" in the long jump, also anchored the mile relay that won.

Impressive. Are her times competitive with the top times in State?

    Good question.
That 12.06 she ran in the 100 @ Bobby Morrow Relays is a very solid time. If she can improve her block work and break into the 11s, she'd be right there at the state meet. Which is a surprise to me because I thought the 400 was her race.
In the 200 and 400 she can be competitive at Regionals, too early to say if she can qualify for state.

Well, hopefully she can perfect her craft and make a run, no pun intended, to State. lol

I wonder how good, better, she could be had she not missed her JR year.

The girls track coach at HHS stinks, sorry to say.

I know she is not looking at the past and trying to make the most out of the present, but another good question.

    Post To All Track Fans

Nvm about the meet this weekend. It looks like the Valley coaches can't get their heads together and are dividing or best athletes between 3 different meets in the RGV this weekend.
I guess they are afraid of competition.

Is Sean running the 4x100m relay? What about Mauricio Martinez and Lance?

Sean's nursing an injury so they just limited him to the long jump and 4x400 relay anchor but yes he's the normal anchor of the 4 x 100 and believe Cole starts that relay. Mau M. is nursing injury and Lance is just concentrating on baseball with some football mixed in this year.

There was 4 of them yesterday, McHi, Cats Relays(at PSJA), Donna, and PI. It's hard to even keep up which schools are gonna be where.
Meet of Champions March 22-23 all the best will finally be at 1 meet.
