Los Fresnos Resaca Middle School-Undefeated last year, returning starting pitcher, 3rd baseman, SS, 2nd baseman,1st baseman with 4 players from Regional qualifying team from 12U Pony last year.

Los Fresnos Cuates Middle School-returning experienced pitcher with velocity and placement with 4 players from Regional qualifying team in 12U Pony last year.

Here is the All Star team. Half go to Resaca* and half go to Cuates.

The importance of a strong youth softball program is vital. San Benito is evidence of that. They have, over the years, really done a good job getting young girls prepared.

The only girls I know from Brownsville are Maricela from Garcia and the Pitcher from Lucio, both I think are 4-5 in pitching.

    In my OPINION.

The pitchers for Los Fresnos Middle Schools:

    Speed 1 = slow and 5 = hard/fast
    Player 1 = beginner 5 = very experienced

Liberty Middle School: Pitcher:5 and accurate and can hit, Catcher = 4 in experience and can catch.

Los Cuates: Pitcher:4 speed and 5 experience. Catcher = 5 in experience and can catch and hit. 1st baseman a 3.5, SS is a 4,

    Resaca: Pitcher: 4.5, great placement and accurate. Catcher = 4, 1st = 3.5, 2nd 3.5, SS 3.5, 3rd. 4

Brownsville has a string of good pitching in middle school. Marisela Gaytan is at either Lucio or perkins, sabrina garcia or garza at cummings and brissa rivera at faulk. Faulk appears to have a supporting cast that could lead to a good season. It would be interesting to see Resaca against one of these pitchers.

Marisela is with Garcia, like I mention in the earlier post.......

Bville Garcia 9 LF Resaca 1
Marisela pitched a gem against Los Fresnos Resaca Middle School and had 2 hits, one a smash to center field that brought in a run. Garcia's batters were making contact when it counted.

LF Cuates 15 Bville Lucio 3

I was told that the pitcher I thought was at Lucio, actually is now a 9th grader. For some reason I thought she was still in 8th.

Okay...thats right...she is at garcia. Its impressive that garcia took down Resaca. People were saying resaca was the team to beat in that conference. How does Los cuates and resaca compare to each other?

Garcia played a good game, the difference that I saw from last year when Resaca beat Garcia was that Garcia had/has more hitters. Not big hitters, but from 1-6, they were ready to hit and confident.

    Resaca and Cuates? Not sure....
